Leaving a company can be a tough decision, and we understand that. We want to make sure that when someone leaves, they have all the information and support they need.
This section covers what to expect when someone leaves the team.

<aside> 🌍 We hire people from different countries, which means that employment and contract types will be either UK PAYE, contractor agreement, or Remote.com employment agreement. This means that we may have to adjust our policies where they are mandated by local employment laws.

Our goal is to have a team of people who are autonomous, confident in their own work, and can handle a large amount of responsibility with minimal guidance.
If a team member struggles to adapt to our way of working or runs into challenges, we will do everything we can to maximize the chance of things working out and help them get back on track.
Occasionally, it may be the wrong fit for both the company and/or the individual, and we may have to make the difficult decision to part ways.
<aside> đź’ś Spoke provides a support program for those who have decided to leave. When someone decides to look for a new opportunity, this program supports them while they look for work, go to interviews, and hand over their work.

A notice period is the amount of time a team member gives Spoke before their last day. Similarly, if Spoke decides to end someone’s employment, we’ll give notice in advance.
We have notice periods to give us time to finish off projects, hand over work, and say goodbyes.
Usually, we don’t ask someone to work their notice period; in these instances, they will receive pay in lieu of notice. This is decided on a case-by-case basis between the person leaving and their manager.
UK-FTEs and Contractors
If the team member resigns → notice is 30 days (as per contract).
